Race your Friends

Perhaps you've done a few trackdays, or attended a race school or two, and feel you're ready to advance your riding to the next level. Or perhaps you just long to compete against your peers in a true race environment, rather than on the street with all its inherent danger. Regardless of your motivation, club-level racing offers real racing excitement and experience to novices and experts alike.

The requirements and costs associated with club racing generally aren't nearly as restrictive as those for AMA racing or other higher-level organizations. In most cases, a single-day race school and small fee buy your racing license. And many organizations will waive the single-day-course-requirement with proof of recent completion of approved courses, such as those offered by Keith Code, or Pridmore. In most cases, there are no qualifying times required to put you on the grid... simply pay a separate fee for each race you enter and you're in!

Riders are grouped according to motorcycle make and displacement, engine and suspension modifications, experience, and a host of other factors. No matter who you are, or what you ride, there's a place for you at a club racing events. Indeed, it's not uncommon for first-time riders to pit side-by-side with the AMA heroes they spend each weekend watching on TV.

If you'd like to learn more about club-level programs in the Southwest, please visit the links included on this page. Currently, one major organization hosts racing events in and around the Phoenix Arizona area, with many more in the surrounding states. Road Race Southwest , an affiliate of CCS, currently holds racing events at Firebird Raceway in Chandler, Arizona, and may expand their venues in the upcoming season to include Arroyo Seco Raceway in New Mexico, and at Las Vegas Speedway in Nevada. The Arroyo Seco Motorcyclist Association hosts a single-track race series each year at (you guessed it) Arroyo Seco Raceway. WSMC offers competitive racing in California, and WERA's western division utilizes tracks both in Nevada and California. In Colorado, the MRA hosts a roadracing series encompassing Pueblo Motorsports Park and La Junta Raceway in Colorado, Hastings Motorsports Park in Nebraska, and the fabulous Miller Motorsports Park (MMP) in Tooele Utah. The Plaza Cycle 'Masters of the Mountain' Series is also held exclusively at MMP. You can find out more about it by visiting the Utah Sportbike Association.

Bike and rider requirements are generally minimal, depending on class, and explained in detail in the rulebooks of the various organizations listed above. If you require any advice or assistance with the race preparation of your motorcycle, Sportbike Solutions is always there to help.

Sportbike Solutions offers trackside service, support, and sales at all CCS/RRSW events held at Firebird Raceway, and proudly sponsors the Unlimited Superbike class. We hope to see you there - and welcome any and all to stop by and say hello! Just look for our banner in vendor row.
