The Bazzaz Z-Fi Fuel Control Unit is one of the hottest things going in the field of motorcycle fuel management today. The Z-Fi controller, which piggy-backs onto your stock ECU using OEM-style connectors, allows you to tune your fuel injection maps for optimum performance. From bone-stock street machines to highly-modified Superbike & FX-spec racebikes, the Z-Fi provides the range of adjustment and level of detail necessary to achieve outstanding results.
The Bazzaz Fuel Controller sits inline with your stock electronics, so reverting your bike back to stock is accomplished by merely removing the device. It comes pre-programmed for increased performance using either your stock exhaust, or an aftermarket slip-on. But you'll find it to be of greatest advantage when used with high-flow full exhaust systems, air filters, and/or engine modifications, where large changes in fueling are necessary to achieve maximum power gains and throttle response.
The Bazzaz Z-Fi can be custom mapped on any dyno. Perhaps the most innovative feature of the system, however, is its ability to create its own custom map while being ridden! Using the optional Z-AFM self-mapping kit, which includes a wideband O2 sensor and controller, the unit logs air-fuel mixture readings across all RPM ranges and throttle openings. Riders can then use the included Z-mapping software to set target air-fuel ratios, apply recommended map changes, and upload these changes to the unit. This is a huge boon to riders who want the performance benefits of a fuel controller now, but plan on making changes to their bike in the future that will require changes in mapping. Most racers have found that the best results can be achieved by using a combination of dyno tuning and real-world map changes based on the data log results.
This kit includes everything you need to get up and running, including the Z-Fi controller itself, a USB cable for connecting to your windows-based PC, and Z-mapping software on CD-ROM for uploading, viewing, and changing fuel maps and settings.
You can use the option box to add on the Z-AFM self-mapping kit. If your stock or aftermarket exhaust does not come with an oxygen sensor bung welded in place, choose the option that includes the bung (which you will need to be welded in place). Otherwise, choose the option without the bung, as the Z-AFM wideband sensor will be located where your stock sensor currently is.
